There seems to be an issue with the “SetupAPI” function of Windows within Wine. Note 2: Coming from the new Beta Update 0.9.10, you will experience crash on CDPR logo. You can find the necessary steps in the “Part 6 – Installing Gwent with GOG Galaxy” section of the guide for you to disable it. Note 1: The 4K Textures DLC for this game won’t work as it will always crash the game regardless of how strong your Mac’s hardware is. Proof that it works! (Please don’t mind the hand, I got unlucky in the mulligan phase.) But I will do my best to help the macOS community with your concerns and to keep this guide safe from damages. I created this guide in good faith for people who are eager to play in their Macs either because they don’t have Windows operated PC’s or for most people who use Macbooks, they want to play wherever they wish. And the only reason I see for not having a macOS version at beta is because they want the game to be fully ready before they port it. I appreciate the fact that they put a lot of effort and patience to bring the best games they can thus the “Coming When It’s Ready” lines appear.
I strongly believe that CDPR portrays a really good attitude with producing its games.
It’s a great game indeed and like many other people, I believe that Gwent will go far places. Like you, I also experience the same frustration of having to wait for an official port of Gwent.
